ABOUT OUR RESTAURANT

The Kingsway contemporary Asian restaurant experience from Chef Ashwin Vilkhu, inspired by family dinners from his childhood home in New Orleans. Growing up, family meals reflected the rich culinary diversity of Asia's bold flavors, vibrant spices, and dishes that seamlessly blended traditions. New Orleans much like Singapore, where cultures and cuisines intertwine, The Kingsway celebrates this intersection of flavors, reimagining them with refined techniques and a contemporary sensibility.

 

Every dish is a tribute to the meals that shaped him as Chef, crafted with precision and imagination. Thoughtfully sourced and sustainable ingredients, local seafood & produce, balanced bold flavors, and an unwavering commitment to excellence define our approach. The Kingsway is not just a restaurant it is an homage to memory and a celebration of Asian cuisine & culture through New Orleans.

Our commitment to excellence extends beyond the kitchen. Director of Beverage Colin Williams, a trained chef, leads the beverage program with a culinary-driven approach where each cocktail is designed to enhance the dining experience. At the helm of service, General Manager & Sommelier Taylor Adams brings an unparalleled level of leadership, ensuring every guest feels welcomed with warmth and hospitality. He also curates the wine program, meticulously crafting pairings that enhance and elevate every course.

 

At The Kingsway, every element from the flavors on the plate to the glass in hand comes together to create an experience that is thoughtful, dynamic, and deeply rooted in both tradition and innovation.

Our restaurant is guided by seasonality and a

deep respect for where our food comes from.

We prioritize sourcing ingredients from Louisiana

while working closely with local farmers, fishermen,

and purveyors whenever they meet our standards

for quality and responsibility. Every product is

chosen with intention, handled with care, and

treated with respect for the land, the people,

and the craft behind it. It’s the foundation of

how we source, cook, and serve.
